The Municipality of Maio organised, Friday 23rd April at 5 pm, in the Salão Nobre Isaac Pinheiro, a public session for the socialisation of the Little Africa Maio Project.
The session, which was open to the public, was attended by the city council executive, elected officials and investors from the Grupo Internacional Holding Cabo Verde (IHCV), led by the Spanish Enrique Bañuellos.
It should be noted that given the pandemic situation in which we found ourselves, for those who attended and participated it was mandatory to wear masks and obey the rule of physical distance.
Structural investments for the development of the island of Maio
It is recalled that this project has a budget in the order of 500 million euros (more than 50 million Cape Verdean contos). It is the largest private investment that is expected to take place in the country and will transform the island into a high-end tourist destination with high added value, based on a Maio-Eco Island concept.
The establishment agreement between the Government of Cape Verde and the International Holding Cape Verde group has already been signed and the effective start of the project is expected to take place later this year.
